Poughkeepsie police are investigating two separate incidents that occurred on Thursday (January 16). The first incident involved a large fight on May Street just before 3 p.m., during which a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the torso. Despite his injuries, the teenager managed to walk himself to a local hospital for treatment. Police continued their investigation at the hospital, seeking more information about the altercation.
Later that evening, around 6:45 p.m., shots were fired at an empty car on North Hamilton Street. Officers found spent shell casings at the scene but no injuries were reported. The police are actively investigating both incidents and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The incidents have raised concerns in the community, prompting increased police presence in the area. Authorities are working to determine if there is any connection between the two events.
