The disciplinary process for Sergeant Eric VanAllen of the Kingston Police Department is still ongoing following his arrest for driving while intoxicated (DWI) in December. VanAllen, a longtime member of the department, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct last week. He was initially taken into custody after being found asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle in Gardiner.

Currently, VanAllen is on paid sick leave, as confirmed by Kingston Mayor Steve Noble during a recent Police Commission meeting. Despite his guilty plea, VanAllen has already served a 30-day unpaid suspension.

The situation has drawn attention within the community, as the disciplinary process continues to unfold. The outcome of this process will determine any further actions regarding VanAllen's position within the police department.
