Wappinger Man Charged with Stalking Child in Pleasant Valley

A 36-year-old man from Wappinger, Kurt Geisler, has been charged with stalking an elementary school-aged child in Pleasant Valley. According to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on Wednesday (April 30) when Geisler allegedly approached the child and attempted to give them inappropriate gifts and a note.

Geisler was identified following an investigation and was taken into custody later that evening. He faces charges of second-degree stalking, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and is currently held at the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
