A significant drug bust occurred in East Fishkill when New York State Police arrested Anyelo Santiago, a 37-year-old man from Manhattan, during a traffic stop on Monday (May 12). Santiago was driving a 2000 Honda northbound on the Taconic State Parkway when troopers stopped him for vehicle and traffic law violations.

Upon conducting a consent search of the vehicle, police discovered approximately 111 grams of MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, and around 66 grams of blue fentanyl pills. Santiago was the sole occupant of the car at the time of the arrest.

Following the discovery, Santiago was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. He was arraigned in the East Fishkill Town Court and subsequently remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail, according to NEWS10 ABC and Daily Voice.

The arrest highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking in the Hudson Valley region. Santiago's case will proceed through the legal system, where he will face the charges against him.
