NYS Most Wanted Fugitive Captured in Poughkeepsie

A man listed on New York State's Most Wanted List, Jose Luis Mojica, was apprehended by Poughkeepsie Police in Dutchess County on Wednesday (June 25). Mojica, age 31, was located in the area of Lexington Avenue just before 8 p.m. and attempted to flee but was quickly captured by officers. He was wanted for violating parole after a conviction for second-degree robbery and was featured on the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) Office of Special Investigations' Most Wanted List.

According to Daily Voice, Mojica is considered a violent offender with a history of multiple convictions, including assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and burglary. His criminal activities and past arrests are primarily linked to the city and town of Poughkeepsie.

After his arrest, Mojica was processed at the Police Headquarters and subsequently transferred to the Dutchess County Jail. His capture marks a significant success for the Poughkeepsie Police Department's Patrol Division and Neighborhood Recovery Unit, who were involved in the operation. The police department continues to work diligently to ensure the safety of the community by apprehending individuals on the Most Wanted List.
