Dutchess County is now accepting applications from homeowners interested in creating Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). To qualify, applicants must have a household income at or below 120 percent of the county's area median income. This initiative aims to provide more housing options and support local homeowners.

Property owners in municipalities such as Clinton, Pleasant Valley, Union Vale, and the City of Beacon can join the waitlist before applications officially open on July 14. The applications will be reviewed by Hudson River Housing on a rolling basis, ensuring a fair and thorough evaluation process.

This program is part of a broader effort to address housing needs in Dutchess County by offering additional living spaces that can help accommodate more residents and provide rental income for homeowners. By facilitating the creation of ADUs, the county hopes to enhance community living and support economic growth.
