The City of Kingston has released its paving schedule for July, with work set to occur from Monday (July 21) to Friday (July 25). The planned paving will take place on Pine Street from Maiden Lane to Greenkill Avenue, Greenkill Avenue from Wall Street to Marius Street, and Marius Street from Washington Avenue to Glen Street.
Preparation work, including storm drain cleaning and tree trimming, is already underway. During the paving period, road closures and detours are expected, which may cause traffic delays. According to Kingston's official announcement, vehicles must remain off the streets during milling and paving operations. Access will be restricted until the newly laid blacktop cools, which typically takes three to five hours.
Kingston Mayor Steven T. Noble and the Department of Public Works have emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic changes for safety. The paving season is expected to continue through October 2025, with further updates to be provided in the coming weeks.
