A 17-year-old from Saugerties was arrested on Friday (June 20) for allegedly possessing materials depicting child sexual performances. According to a report by the Daily Freeman, the arrest occurred at 1:25 p.m. on Village Drive. The teenager, whose name is not being released due to his age, faces a felony charge for possession of obscene sexual performance materials.
The suspect was issued an appearance ticket for Ulster County Court and subsequently released. The arrest was part of a broader effort by local law enforcement to crack down on such offenses in the community. The Saugerties Police Department has been actively monitoring and addressing these types of crimes to ensure the safety of the community.
As the case progresses, the teen is expected to appear in court to address the charges. The legal process will determine the outcome of the case, and the teen is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
