With Election Day approaching on Tuesday (November 4), Columbia County is still in need of poll workers. Officials emphasize that this is an excellent opportunity for residents to earn extra money while providing an essential service to their community. Polls will be open across the county from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., and poll workers will be responsible for answering voter questions and ensuring the smooth operation of polling stations.
To qualify as a poll worker, individuals must be registered voters in New York State. However, interpreters do not need to be registered voters. Seventeen-year-olds may also be eligible if their school district participates in a specific program under Education Law Section 3207-a. Poll workers receive payment for both training and the days they work.
The Columbia County Board of Elections encourages interested individuals to apply by contacting their office at 401 State Street, Hudson, NY, or by calling 518-828-3115. More information is available on the Columbia County Board of Elections website.
