Marat Krivoi, a 55-year-old Russian mobster, was found guilty this week of murdering a fellow inmate at Green Haven Correctional Facility in 2022. Already serving two 50-year-to-life sentences for murders committed in Brooklyn in 1992, Krivoi was convicted of multiple felonies, including murder and assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon. The trial took place before Dutchess County Court Judge Jessica Segal, with prosecution handled by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office and defense by the Dutchess County Public Defender’s Office.
The jury found Krivoi guilty of murder, assault while in a correctional facility, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and possession of dangerous contraband in prison. The charges stem from an incident in which Krivoi used a blunt object to attack and kill his fellow inmate. Following the conviction, Krivoi was transferred from Green Haven to the Attica Correctional Facility. His sentencing is scheduled for January 16, 2026.
Krivoi's criminal history dates back to 1993 when he was first imprisoned for two murders. He was later convicted in 2008 for the 1992 Brooklyn murders after witnesses came forward with evidence. The recent conviction adds to his lengthy criminal record, underscoring his violent past.
