Former Hudson Mayor Tiffany Martin is returning to City Hall as the mayoral aide and ADA coordinator under newly elected Mayor Joseph Ferris. Martin, who made history as Hudson's first female mayor, served from 2016 to 2018. Mayor Ferris announced her appointment on Monday (January 6), highlighting her experience and alignment with his vision for city governance.
Ferris and Martin developed a relationship while he sought advice on campaigning and governing. "I went to people who have had the experience, and if anyone's had the experience, it's a former mayor," Ferris said. He emphasized the importance of having someone with Martin's expertise by his side as he begins his tenure.
Martin, who was born and raised in Hudson, expressed her excitement about returning to serve the city. "I'm really excited about this change for Hudson," she said. "I think it is part of the natural evolution of things." Prior to her role as mayor, Martin served on the Hudson City School District Board of Education and worked in human resources and business management.
Ferris plans to announce additional appointments, including three planning board members, in the coming weeks. He noted that Martin's past mayoral experience is invaluable in creating a cohesive and effective city government.
The appointment has been well-received by the community, with many praising Martin's institutional knowledge and her ability to bridge old and new Hudson. As Ferris and Martin settle into their roles, they are already addressing key issues such as the city's parking situation and constituent communication.
