The Newburgh City Police are currently investigating two separate incidents that occurred over the weekend. The first incident involved shots being fired at the intersection of Third Street and City Terrace on Saturday (April 4) at 3:10 p.m. The police department’s Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force is leading the investigation. Officers recovered several spent shell casings from the scene. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Newburgh City Police at 845-569-7529. Calls can remain anonymous.
In a separate incident on Sunday (April 5) at 7 a.m., a man sustained a severe head laceration after being struck by another person. The victim was transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made in connection with this assault.
Both incidents are under active investigation, and police are seeking assistance from the public to gather more information. The Newburgh City Police encourage residents to report any suspicious activities or details related to these cases.
