Tasting the $240 Sam Adams Utopia: A Game of Riddles and High-Alcohol Adventure
If you thought beer was just a casual sip, think again. Bobby Bones Show recently got their hands on the ultra-exclusive Sam Adams Utopia, a beer that’s making headlines, not just for its price, but for its 30% alcohol content (compare that to your typical 4%). And yes, this bottle will set you back $240. The bottle itself is stunning, looking more like an urn or a piece of art than something you drink. Naturally, some of the show wanted to dive in. But we decided to make things interesting: no one could drink it without earning it, so they combined the tasting with a fun game of Riddle Me This.
Lunchbox won the game, winning the opportunity to taste the expensive beer. Bobby poured it in the lid for him and he mentioned the aroma alone was intense, strong and reminiscent of fine whiskey rather than your typical beer. One small sip immediately revealed just how thick and potent it was, it’s less a beer and more like liquor. Bobby let Eddie and Morgan also taste the beer, which Lunchbox was not pleased with since they didn't win. However, they all agreed the drink was intense and had an interesting taste. Which makes sense, given Utopia is only available in 35 states due to laws restricting beverages with such high alcohol content.
